Association says tourists annul 500 mln rbl of tours to Russia

MOSCOW, Mar 12 (PRIME) -- Foreign tourists annulled 500 million rubles of tours to Russia from March until May 2020 due to the coronavirus, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia said in a statement on Thursday.

“Foreign tour operators and tourists are annulling the tours to Russia booked earlier. According to calculations of market participants, the current total amount of annulled tours is about 500 million rubles. This covers cancellation of trips of about 15,000 foreign tourists from March till May 2020,” the association reported.

The association also said that tour operators are losing revenue so far but in May–June they can suffer real losses.
